Returns are tricky things to figure out! The last thing you want to deal with when you’re already not satisfied with your purchase is the hassle and losing money. The good news is, there are a lot of stores that have incredible return policies that make this process so much easier. I’ve listed a few of my favorites below. Plus I have some tips and tricks for making Amazon returns better for you!
Here are some of my favorite store Return Policies and Tips:
Nordstrom offers free returns on ANYTHING, with or without a receipt! It is an incredible service they provide so you are all set with any returns you’ll have to Nordstrom.
While IKEA’s shipping can get a little crazy when ordering online, their return policies are amazing. They will take anything back within 365 days of purchase, even if its already assembled! Of course you’ll need to save your receipt, and there are restrictions if the item is used. I just love that they are so flexible when it comes to returning purchases that are typically large and a pain.
Zappos offers free shipping and free returns for 365 days after purchase. Doesn’t get much better than that! Remember they need to be unused returns, but at least you don’t have to worry about those shoes you keep forgetting to send back – you’ve got time!
Many of you may be surprised to hear that I don’t think Amazon has great return policy! If you were to return something you simply don’t need or want, there is a good chance that you will have to pay for the return. Considering I do most of my shopping for myself and my family on Amazon, this is a huge bummer.
The good news is, there are a few ways to make sure you don’t have to worry about paying for returns.
When looking at products on Amazon, some of them will list that they feature free returns, make sure you’re looking for this! Purchasing items that feature this will ensure you don’t have to pay for returns.
For items that don’t feature free returns, you can always mark them as a gift. Remember, this is for items you’re actually giving to someone else. Don’t exploit this and ruin it for all of us! When you mark something as a gift, the gift receiver can send the item back without paying for return shipping, this helps a lot!
My final tip to you is to explore your options! When returning an item on Amazon, there are typically options and some cost more than others. If you have the option to return the item to an Amazon Drop Box or Amazon Preferred return site, you can save on returns! Sometimes when we’re returning things we’re in such a rush we don’t even pay attention to fees or options, slow down and make sure you’re getting yourself the best deal!
I hope this helps you all a few less headaches during the busiest return season of the year, and maybe you’ll even save a few bucks!
